Las Vegas – Jey Uso won the World Heavyweight Championship on Wrestlemania 41 on Saturday night and capitalized on an arrogant Gunther who had overlooked him for months.
Uso gave Gunther a powerbomb, hit him with three seed lawns and then put him in a sleeping grip and forced the big man to tap out. The audience almost ran the roof of Allegiant Stadium when the hand of Uso was raised and the championship was handed over to him.

He celebrated the moment with the fans who supported him for months, danced to his entrance music and shouted “Yeet” with him under his promos.
“Welcome to the Yeet era,” USO told journalists at Post-Wrestlemania 41 press conference. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I want to embrace hatred. I want to embrace the love.
“All I know is that I am in Las Vegas. I got family out there. I dethroned ‘Ring General’. I’m the Heavy Weight Master.”

Uso celebrated the moment in the ring with his brother, Jimmy. Usos had been a tag-team duo for years and was a major part of the Bloodline fraction and the epic tale of the last three years before the stable collapse, and several stars went their separate ways.
It is rare to see a predominantly tag-team-wrestler earning a shot at a prestigious WWE championship and becoming the guy the company chooses to push. A handful of WWE super stars have done so, and the USO couldn’t really understand the implementation at that moment.
“I’ve always wanted to be a tag-team-wrestler with my twin brother,” he said. “That’s all that it was and then, when you first start moving on and see different doors open, you’ll take advantage of these options. It’s been difficult. It’s been a long way.

“In our business, I think everyone is smart for it. We are the last of a dying race. It’s cursed close live-theater-a shot, a take, live TV. So I take an honor in all that.”
