The United Arab Emirates’ Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived at Islamabad on Sunday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
He was received at the airport by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The visit has been described as “significant” and a reflection of the “deeply rooted and historical ties” between the two countries.
“This high -level visit emphasizes both pages’ obligation to expand the extent of mutual cooperation in areas of common interest,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah is scheduled to hold conversations with the top Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The most important issues on the agenda include trade, investment, energy cooperation, regional security and improved contacts with people. The two sides are also expected to review regional developments and discuss joint initiatives.
