National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide warning for a possible heat wave expected between April 22 and 27, Warning of dry and unusually hot weather in most regions, Express News reported.
According to NDMA’s advice, much of the country is likely to experience increased temperatures and dry conditions throughout the period. The prognosis is particularly concerned with Balochistan and Sindh, where temperatures are expected to remain significant above normal.
Similar weather patterns are expected over large parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
However, light rain and partially cloudy sky are expected in specific districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Manssehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi, Swab, Swat, and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and out Waziristan.
Gilgit-Baltistan and different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir can also see occasional rainfall during this period. NDMA has urged local authorities to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions, especially in areas at risk of extreme heat.
The public is advised to remain hydrated, avoid direct sunlight in the peak load and protect vulnerable individuals, including children, the elderly and those with respiratory conditions.
