PM announces civilian prices for overseas Pakistani investors

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that overseas Pakistanis who make significant investments in the country will be recognized with civilian awards and recognize their contributions as ambassadors for Pakistan abroad, Express News reported.

Chairman of a high -level meeting on questions about overseas Pakistanis, the prime minister said: “Overseas Pakistanis play the role of ambassadors for our country. Their services and dedication to Pakistan is commendable.”

The meeting attended Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Head of Army Staff General Asim Munir, federal ministers and senior officials.

PM Shehbaz noted that a large number of overseas Pakistanis participated in the recent overseas Pakistanis Convention, reflecting their confidence in government policies. “We greet their sincerity, love of the home country and the victims they have made,” he said.

PM praised the global results of overseas Pakistanis, especially in areas such as medicine, education, technology and consultancy. “They have earned a respectable name for themselves and the country through hard work and integrity,” he added.

He also said the government had recently launched a greater initiative to honor their contribution. “Overseas Pakistanis who have performed unusually in different sectors abroad or sent the highest transfers via the State Bank will be honored with civilian prices,” he said.

The government, he assured, is obliged to solve the issues facing overseas Pakistanis on a priority basis. Investment opportunities in line with their professional expertise will be delivered in Pakistan to encourage further commitment.

The meeting also reviewed progress with previously announced facilities and strategies aimed at supporting Pakistanis living abroad.
