Mianwali:
At least 16 terrorists belonging to the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in separate operations by police, Monday from Terrorism (CTD) and the security forces in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The Punjab police said at least 10 terrorists were killed and several others wounded in a joint police CTD operation in the Makarwal area of the Mianwali district. Hours later, the military said six terrorists were killed in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the Waziristan region of KP.
According to the Mianwali police, a joint operation was initiated two days ago on the reported presence of 20 to 30 terrorists in the hilly area Mullakhel adjacent to the Karak District in jurisdiction for Makarwal Police Station.
They said police, CTD and Rangers quotas, led by Mianwali District Police Officer (DPO) Akhtar Farooq and together with Sargodha Range Police Officer (RPO) Shahzad Asif Khan, surrounded the terrorists and engaged them in intermittent fire exchanges.
As a result, according to a statement from the Punjab police spokesman, more than 10 terrorists were killed, adding that there were reports of injuries to several terrorists. The source said further police action against the terrorists was underway.
During these fire exchanges, spokesman for the Punjab police said a local man was wounded in the leg and moved to a local hospital. It added that all officers and staff of the police and CTD remained unmarried.
Security in Mianwali and the surrounding areas has been improved after surgery. Officials confirmed that the operation would continue to ensure complete elimination of terrorist decorations operating in the region.
Inspector of Punjab Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the Mianwali police on their “brilliant success” against the terrorists. “The Punjab police are on duty … The terrorists’ dishonest plans will be crushed,” said Punjab Chief.
Main Minister Maryam Nawaz also paid tribute to the Punjab police and CTD to remove 10 terrorists in Makarwal and sent his best wishes to them. “The brave sons of the Punjab police are our pride,” she said.
In a statement from Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Punjab police and CTD for their successful operation against terrorists, which called it a “significant success” in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The minister hailed glowing tribute to the brave police and CTD staff who, in an operation with high efforts, eliminated more than 10 Khawarij terrorists. He said the operation was not only a tactical success, but a powerful message to all anti-State elements that planned against the country’s peace and security.
“By sending more than 10 Khawarij Terrorists to Hell, Punjab -Police and CTD have shown unique determination and professionalism,” Naqvi noted. He added that such victories were crucial to securing lasting peace in the country and protecting the lives of innocent citizens.
With a repeat of the government’s unwavering attitude against terrorism, Interior Minister Naqvi assured that all necessary resources would be delivered to law enforcement perosnnel to eradicate terrorism from the country.
Waziristan IBOS
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), five Khwarij terrorists were killed in an IBO in the ordinary area of Razmak in northern Waziristan district, while a terrorist leader Zabi Ullah was neutralized in another IBO in southern Waziristan district.

ISPR said that sanitization operations were carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in these areas, adding that the security forces in Pakistan were determined to wipe out the threat of terror from the country.
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for successful operations against Khwarij in North and South Waziristan. In their separate statements, they welcome the bravery of troops to kill Khwarij.
They repeated the government’s obligation to eradicate terrorism from the country. The president and the prime minister said the entire nation was united alongside the security forces against the threat of terror.
