CD Project Red has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 will contain NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling).
It is according to Digital Foundry, which was able to confirm with the study during a practical event that the Switch 2 version will offer NVIDIA’s AI-UPSCALING technology in both hand-held and docked mode.
“We use a version of DLSS available for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, powered by Nvidia’s Tensor Kerner,” CD Project Red told the publication. “The game uses DLSS in all four modes: in handheld and anchored, and the performance and quality variations for each.”
When placed, Cyberpunk 2077 will offer a choice between 30 FPS quality mode and a 40FPS performance state, the latter of which would probably only work on TVs supporting 120Hz.
“With consistent performance, both should look smooth, with 40FPS mode between 30 FPS and 60FPS in terms of fluidity,” Digital Foundry explained. “Both modes use 1080p as output solution with dynamic resolution scaling in effect in combination with DLSS.”
In handheld mode, quality mode still emits a 1080p image with DLSS and dynamic resolution scaling, targeting 30fps, while performance mode will see a decrease in resolution to 720p, “with the handheld screen in 120Hz mode and 40fps as the target.”
Cyberpunk 2077 is the first game confirmed to include DLSS after Switch 2 directly earlier this month.
Nintendo revealed that Switch 2 would contain Nvidia’s DLS after livestream, but refrained from sharing which games would use it. Right now, it is unclear whether any of the company’s first -party titles will also offer the technology or whether it is only reserved for third -party games that were first released on PC, just like Cyberpunk 2077.
Nintendo Switch 2 is launched on June 5, 2025 and costs $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for Mario Kart World Bundle, which comes with a digital copy of the game.
Pre -orders are now live in England. US pre-orders must begin on April 24 after Nintendo delayed its first 9 April date when it assessed the potential impact of tariffs.
