Aaron Rodgers’ comments about his last meeting with New York Jets has apparently left a bad impression on the team’s leadership.
In a speech with the media about the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday, new general manager Darren Mougey avoided a number of questions about the comments of the four-time league MVP during his performance at “The Pat McAfee Show” last week.

“It was mildly two years, but I figured that when I flew all over the country at my own crown that there should be a conversation. And the confusing thing for me – and the strange thing – was when I went out there I meet with the coach … We start talking, he runs out of the room.”
Rodgers said Glenn returned with Mougey, but the conversation took a quick turn.
“We sit down in the office and I think we will have this long conversation – I have flown all over the country – and 20 seconds in he goes – I mean literally, I talk to GM about something and he leans to the end of his seat and goes ‘then you want to play football?'”

Rodgers reacted that he did it, but was quickly greeted by Glenns already made a decision: “We are going in a different direction at Quarterback.”
In a speech with the media on Monday, Mougey was asked to confirm the details of this interaction. He rejected quickly.
“I understand that question and I treated it on [NFL] unite. But today I just want to talk about the draft and the jets players. ”
When he was pressed again on the subject, Mogey repeated, “I understand the question, but I just want to talk about the draft and the current jets players.”

Mougey said in Combine in February that he has “a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers as a player and a person, First-Ballot Hall of Famer”, but he stuck to the decision to move “past it and into this next process here with free agency and draft.”
