Brayan Rocchio just hit .222 came in on Monday night, but he went 2-for-2 with an RBI single that resulted in some good luck.
Cleveland Guardian’s shortstop came to the bowl of the fourth round with a man in third place when he broke his bat on a track from Clarke Schmidt.
The ball scooted past Jazz Chisholm Jr. At the second base that emerged at the last second when a large piece of bats were also heading in his direction.

According to Baseball Savant, the ball left Rocchio’s bat of only 64.8 mph, which is not exactly ideal. But it’s a hard line drive in the box.
Chisholm was asked about the piece and he held it pretty blunt.
“I want to make every game out there for my guy, but at the same time you won’t die,” Chisholm said.

“You got a sharp object that comes your way. I’ve seen guys being stabbed with broken bats in person, so I know how bad the damage can be. The hardest thing to do as a baseball player right now is to stay on the field. So at the same time we have to protect ourselves when we play out there, especially when things like it happen.”
Chisholm said he was hit in the calf with pieces by a broken bat in minors.
“That’s why I’m a little more careful about going for balls when bats are in the same track,” he added.

Chisholm later released himself with his seventh home driving of the year, which is tied to the most on New York Yankees with none other than Aaron judge. But Yankees’ comeback fell just short as they lost, 6-4, to the team they defeated in the American League Championship series last year.
