Jalen Hurts reached new levels this last season – he brought the Lombardi trophy back to Philadelphia.
Entering the season, heck, even into the playoffs, the jury was out at the Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback, with many thought he was a game manager with legs on a sound list.
But he turned it on in the playoffs – Hans Eagles set 95 points in their last two games of the season, the NFC title game and the Super Bowl.

For Brian Dawkins, however, this is not necessarily a surprise. Dawkins knew that Hurts could dampen critics shortly after his career got a sudden hit.
Hurts, of course, was benched in 2018 National Championship with Alabama, and Tua Tagovailoa took over. Tagovailoa threw walk-off touchdown to, ironically, future Eagles broad recipient Devonta Smith.
“When it happened, it taught me a lot about his character … That the young man is the one I saw that I could be introduced to Philadelphia and grow as a quarterback. And he is still growing,” Dawkins said in a recent interview with Pakinomist Digital.
But now that Hurts has a ring (and two Super Bowl appearances in three years), Dawkins expects more.
“To me, I’m confused when people get mad when someone says Jalen isn’t playing to his potential. Certain games he wasn’t,” Dawkins said. “I’m someone who I’m always critical of myself on movies. When I’m not best, I’m honest with myself. And I’m sure he’s the same. If he’s the same way he would say the same exact things.
“But what sets him apart is when he is healthy and he enters the big environments, he plays at another level. It’s a good problem, but when you blink it, people will always expect it. You have to keep him to a higher standard.”
“Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure is something that my parents have. And then once I’ve heard it hit the rest of this information for me. These are the people who need to take different tests … They find out if you go down the path to develop kidney disease or cardiovascular risk as well. So once I have found that I would be proactive, Care providers have this information so they can get those who can get these tests.
“If there is someone who appeared in your mind, this person should go to Testyourkidneys.com.”

Part of what hurts so big is, of course, tush -push, which may or may not be blocked. Teams have suggested to get rid of the play that the Eagles were successful with over 90% of the time.
It is often imitated but never duplicated. No matter how hard other people try, they simply will never be as good as the birds.
That’s their problem, Dawkins said.
“If you’re an Eagles fan, keep doing it! It’s hard to stop. It’s stopped, it’s not 100%. Things happen – offensive line can slip, defensive line can be bigger. But for Jalen he squats he’s 600 pounds. Not every team has that element,” he said.

Currently it is still allowed. And as long as that is the case, you can expect to see that lots of NFL Red Zone in 2025 and above.
