Karachi:
PPP Senior Leader Faryal Talpur has declared suspension of the work on new channels and the call of the Council for Common Interest (CCI) meeting as a victory for national unity, constitutional supremacy and the struggle for Sindh’s population.
“Today is a day of triumph for Pakistan’s federal entity, supremacy of the constitution and farmers’ rights,” Talpur said in a statement.
She pointed out that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s principle leadership and the peaceful protest from the people of Sindh have proven that when the attitude is fair and the intention is pure, the government is forced to listen to the people.
Talpur called PM Shehbaz Sharif’s message to stop working with new channels and the decision to convene the CCI meeting on May 2nd a wise and cautious step.
“The Prime Minister’s attitude is a positive step towards strengthening democratic traditions, recognizing provincial autonomy and strengthening constitutional institutions,” she noted.
