- Photos of PowerColor RX 9070 GRE models have been viewed
- This suggests that these graphics cards could soon arrive
- It also seems to refute other recent rumors of a delay to Q4 from 2025 for the GRE versions
The latest buzzing from the GPU wine rehearsal suggested that if AMD has an RX 9070 GREE planned, this graphics card may be delayed for a long time – but it seems that this may not be the case.
Of course, this is just a rumor – just like the alleged delay of RX 9070 GRE, and actually the very existence of such a board – but in this case we have photographic evidence.
Still add spices as needed, but Videocardz has presented us with some apparent pictures of PowerColor RX 9070 GRE. There are two models shown – the red devil and reaper – and we get to see the boxes and graphics cards themselves.
The boards are dead inferior to the same RX 9070 XT models from PowerColor, which is no surprise. However, the most narrative detail of the images comes on the boxes, which has an apparent confirmation that this GPU will be filled with 12 GB of video memory.
It is a smaller amount of VRAM compared to the other RX 9070 models equipped with 16 GB. It marries the previous gossip that this incoming GPU will have 4 GB less in the way of Vram.
Videocardz gives us additional rumor specifications for this GPU, which includes it with 3,072 power processors (graphics) against 3,584 and 4,096 for RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT respectively. Watching speeds are likely to be turned in between the two existing 9070 models coming in at a 2.8 GHz boost or so.
Analysis: Q4 Launcher Rummers Apparently Debunked
With what seems to be photos of finished products out there – provided this leak is real – it seems to indicate that PowerColor is ready for an impending launch of RX 9070 GRE.
As mentioned in the beginning, it also seems to reject yet another recent rumor that claimed that AMD was planning to launch the RX 9070 soon, but then thought better about this idea and pushed the release time frame for this graphics card all the way back to the end of 2025 (Q4).
To be righteous, I found it difficult to think that AMD would delay a potential RX 9070 GRE release until October 2025 (or maybe even later) -not unless there were some problems wrapped in production (and the supply of RX 9070 models overall).
We still have to remember that as Videocardz points out, this GPU is likely to only be launched in Asia originally, as with other GREE models. In the past, GRE versions have come to regions outside Asia given time, and there is a seemingly good chance that this will happen with 9070 GRE – but we would not knock on it.
In addition to a more affordable version of the RX 9070 in the form of GRE, there may also be a faster variant, an ‘Ultimate Navi 48’ GPU if other rumors pan. (Navi 48 is the chip used by all of these 9070 models).
