Prices for some Nintendo Switch 2 edition upgrade packages have finally been revealed, bringing an end to some of the confusion about these paid improvements.
Nintendo has now confirmed through its US and British online stores that Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Packages for both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom costs $ 9.99 / £ 7.99 each.
Both of these upgrade packages will also be included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription level at no extra cost. Nintendo has also revealed that “selected upgrade packages” will be shown on the service, which means it will not be all of them.
Elsewhere, Nintendo UK has confirmed upgrade packages to the Nintendo Switch 2 editions of Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV and Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World costs £ 16.99 each. Nintendo has not officially revealed us prices for these upgrades yet, but – as discovered by Nintendo Life – Best Buy has listed for $ 19.99 each.
The chance is that these two games have more expensive upgrades due to both of them with significant content extensions. Whereas Zelda Games seem to be only performance upgrades, and thus the reduced costs here.
It is so likely that it Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack could also fall in the $ 9.99 / £ 7.99 Price fittings. Exclusive Switch 2 content has not yet been revealed to this upcoming game, but Nintendo has confirmed greater image quality and performance for it at the Nintendo Direct presentation for Switch 2.
I personally hope that the pricing of package upgrade does not fluctuate more than this. The cost of the simpler upgrades is not that bad, but I certainly won’t make a habit of dropping 17 pounds on some of these others – though the extra content is significant.
