The Board of Directors of Middle Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the postponement of the annual intermediate surveys for 2025, originally scheduled to start on April 28.

The samples now begin from May 5th.

The decision was made according to directives from the chairman of the board and quoted two main reasons for the delay.

First, the ongoing process of awarding Grace Marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics for 2024 first-year science pre-medicine, pre-enginering and general science groups has not yet been completed.

Secondly, several exam centers are still concerned with matriculation exams, which began on April 8 and will continue until May 8.

Officials said the overlap necessitated adjustments to maintain the examination system’s organization and ensure center accessibility.

Students, educational institutions and parents have been asked to continue preparations according to the new schedule.

BIEK stated that any additional updates or changes would be communicated through its official site (www.biek.edu.pk) and its verified social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Yesterday, Sindh Government’s Department of Universities and Boards issued an official review that gave Grace Marks to students who appear in the intermediate part-in (pre-medicine and pre-engineering) annual studies of 2024.

The message was issued after approval of the provincial cabinet during its meeting held on April 15. According to the directive, students will receive 20% grace marks in chemistry and 15% in both physics and mathematics.

The Karachi Board of Intermediate Education has been informed of the decision and implementation instructions have been issued accordingly.

The announcement, signed by Sharifuddin, section officer for boards of the Department of Universities and Boards, instructs the chairman of the intermediate board of directors Karachi to continue with the necessary events to use Cabinet’s decision.

It is important to note that the Karachi intermediate board currently does not have a permanent chairman. The position is temporarily owned by the chairman of the Karachi Matriculation Board.
