Pakistan’s chief of staff Syed Asim Munir has said that the country’s ancestors brought countless victims of the country’s creation, and the military is fully prepared to defend it.
When he spoke at the disposal of the parade ceremony at Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, General Munir emphasized that Muslims are different from Hindus in all aspects of life – religion, customs, traditions, thinking and hopes.
“The two-nation theory was based on the fundamental belief that Muslims and Hindus are two separate nations, not one,” the army chief said.
He added that Pakistan’s existence is the result of an unmatched battle and victims, and it is still the duty of the military to protect it.
“Our ancestors gave huge victims of the creation of Pakistan. We know how to defend it,” he said.
Previously addressing the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had said that Pakistan is open to participating in a “neutral, transparent and credible” investigation of the Pahagam attack, in the midst of rising tensions with India.
PM Shehbaz condemned India’s “eternal guilt game” and called for cessation of accusations without credible investigations.
“The recent tragedy in Pahaldam is another example of this pattern,” he said. “Continued with its role as a responsible country, Pakistan is open to any neutral, transparent and credible investigation.”
He criticized India for smoothing “baseless accusations” against Pakistan without verifiable evidence and confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to support Kashmiris’ right to self -determination and call Kashmir “Jugular Vein” in Pakistan.
Shehbaz warned that any attempt to block or divert Pakistan’s share of water would provoke a full-strength response. He described water as Pakistan’s lifeline and an important national interest.
Shehbaz also highlighted Pakistan’s victims in the global fight against terrorism and noticed over 90,000 losses and $ 600 billion in economic losses.
