While the football world was wrapped in where Shedsur Sanders was going to go on day three of the 2025 NFL draft, ESPN’s Adam Schfter fell some other quarterback news that is very important for a particular MVP -free -free agent.
Aaron Rodgers will remain without a team in the 2025 season, as he has not made his decision on who to play for.
One of these potential teams was Minnesota Vikings, considering JJ McCarthy, the team’s first round election in 2024, did not touch the course last season due to a season-ending injury. However, the front office has been firmly by the fact that McCarthy is the man of the job, on his way into this season, but speculations about a potential rooting agreement remained fluid.

Perhaps it is officially ended after Schafter revealed during ESPN’s broadcast of the draft that the Vikings had acquired Sam Howell from Seattle Seahawks. Howell later confirmed the trade and made a festive post on Instagram.

In return for Howell, Minnesota sent his 142. Election in the fifth round that Seahawks used on defensive Lineman Rylie Mills. Two elections later, Sanders was finally taken by Cleveland Browns.
So where does it leave rodgers in 2025?
Pittsburgh Steelers is still Frontrunner for his services, and their draft thinking seemed to show that they still think he has a good chance of signing. When Pittsburgh went on to a quarterback in the first round and chose to go with Oregon Defensive Tackle Derrick Harmon instead, many were shocked.

The surprise only gained weight as Steelers continued to choose other needs for the need for its list of other than quarterback on day two. Finally, after Sanders was taken, Steelers Ohio State’s Will Howard chose a native from Pennsylvania, in the sixth round.
Steelers-Owner Art Rooney II and head coach Mike Tomlin have both publicly shown interest in bringing the four-time MVP quarterback to lead their offense after his failed period with the New York Jets.
“It’s definitely an option,” Tomlin told NFL Network about getting a decision from Rodgers soon. “I don’t want to predict IFS and WHENS with regard to not only him but any other potential free agent. We have had really productive conversations with him, and I’ve been good at having productive conversations with him and getting to know him.”
In the end, it seems that the decision is completely Rodgers’ at this time. Retirement, just as it was when his time with Green Bay Packers was clearly up before the 2023 campaign is still in the cards.

But the true opportunities are down to really just a team that could use his services for next season. Steelers also did things that enticed for Rodgers brought DK Metcalf in a trade with Seahawks to add their offensive firepower that includes George Pickens, Jylen Warren, Pat Freiermuth and Rookie running back Kaleb Johnson out of Iowa.
Apart from Howard, Steelers Mason Rudolph brought back Skylar Thompson to fill his quarterbacks room.
