Rawalpindi:
A case has been registered against lawyer Jalila Haider at the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Reporting Center in Islamabad to allegedly support Mahrang Baloch, Chef forganizer for Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC), on social media.
According to details, the case was filed in accordance with sections 9, 10 and 26-A in the Act on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) 2016 on behalf of the state. Islamabad Cyber Crime Reporting Center Technical Assistant Aneesur Rehman is the complainant in the case.
The complaint says that Mahrang Baloch is listed according to the fourth schedule under the anti-terrorism law of the Balochistan home department.
During the study, it was found that Jalila Haider allegedly shared content in support of Mahrang Baloch on purpose, an act that, according to the complaint, could spread unrest and anxiety among the public and in society.
Then a formal case was recorded and an investigation has begun.
On Friday, Mahrang and other leaders of the Baloch Yakjeht Committee began a hunger strike to protest against the alleged “torture” of imprisoned by the prison staff and the transfer of activist Beebow Baloch to the district prison Pishin.
Mahrang and several BYC activists had been arrested on March 22, accused of attacking Quetta Civil Hospital and encouraging violence following a police crash on their protest against alleged enforced disappearance in Quetta.
Her detention under section 3 of the maintenance of the Public Order Regulation triggered widespread condemnation from Baloch rights lawyers and international human rights organizations.
