“He said, ‘God got us.’ So that’s what it is, ”Shedeur said of his father’s reaction. “I look at what was going on and everything like a football game, you know you might not get out early, you know it can’t happen. But you know when it’s down to the last two minutes of the game, then you understand that the level is raising the effort.

“All the efforts that have been raised, and that’s why I thrive in the high -pressure moments. So I never felt any kind of way I never felt any kind of way. I understood, ‘Okay, this is the route’ and that’s it.”

Sanders made it clear that it is “never a burden” to be the son of a legendary athlete as his father.

“I didn’t want to look at it like that. I feel like everyone, God makes everyone have their own routes, and this is just my route,” he said. “As if there is nothing, I would be able to go back and wish it was not my dad because I am really grateful that he was there and the structure I have.

“So it’s never really a burden. I just find it, you know that other kids in similar situations, I want them to be proud of what their fathers and what they’ve achieved. Then you could continue a legacy, continue with the family name and not really be a little ashamed of it. I don’t like when people get people ashamed of it.”

Sanders was the 144th choice of the draft despite the originally strong opportunity that Browns could have taken him with No. 2 choices and made him the future of the franchise.

He said the whole experience never changed his view of the league as a business.

“No, nothing really affected me the last few days. You know that just really pushing to have faith and understanding, you know God really had me, and I’m favored, I’m blessed,” he said.

“In addition, it’s not really something that changed, the love of the game is still the love of the game. When you get on the field, there wasn’t too much negativity that has been said. I know I have to clean up some things in my game for me to be at my best, but that’s what I take every offseason one at a time and fix it.
