Sports suborders concocted all kinds of conspiracy theories as to why Shedsur Sanders was not selected within the first two days of the NFL draft this weekend, with many of those pointing to race despite Cam Ward being # 1 to Tennessee Titans.
Sanders eventually fell to Cleveland Browns in the fifth round. Sanders was considered one of the top quarterback prospects, but he was the sixth taken. It was the NFL all weekend.

On Monday, ESPN NFL analyst Damien Woody gave a simple reason why Sanders slipped on “Get up.”
“I think NFL sent a message and said you’re not that guy. Honestly. The overwhelming message I saw when shedur slid to the fifth round, NFL basically said you’re not that guy. You’re good but you’re not that guy,” said the two-time Super Bowl champion.
“I’m here to tell everyone out there, anyone who looks at the NFL draft who loves NFL, trust me when I tell you this, if you are the guy, they will choose you in the first round because NFL and all these teams are in the winning business. If you can help a team to win, they will choose you.
“The NFL Clearly Field That Shedeur Sanders Was A Good Prospect But He Wasn’t What The Young People Call, He Wasn’t Him. And Then On Top Of That, You Factor In All The Celebrity and Everything That Comes With Shhedeur Sanders. Ultimately Said, you know what, when you combine that fact that we don’t think you are him, and you have all this celebrity and everything that comes with you, that is the ultimate recipe for why you were in the fifth round.

Skyeseur Sanders enters the crowded quarterback room as he starts Brown’s career
Several reports pointed to Sanders’ questionable preliminary interviews as to why he fell. Sanders did not throw on the NFL scouting combination and chose to train on his own showcase weeks before the draft.
Sanders approached his fall in his first media availability.
“Nothing really affected me for the past few days,” Sanders said. “I’m preferred, I’m blessed. Besides it’s not really something that changed. The love of the game is still the love of the game. When you get on the field, there wasn’t too much negativity that was said. I know I have to clean up some things in my game for me to be in my best, but that’s what I take every season once and fix it.

“The most important thing I just prove – Coach (Kevin) Stefanski and (General Manager Andrew) Berry – that they are right. That’s it. They’re right to choose me. I’m a good decision. I’m a good draft of them to be able to get in there and do what I have to do.”
