Every year, NFL owners vote on potential rule changes that will be in the next season, and a proposal in particular has given rise to a broad debate.

Green Bay Packers submitted a proposal to ban the Philadelphia Eagles’ famous “Turh Push” game, where quarterback Jalen hurts, is pushed forward in card-yardage situations, especially on the target line of a touchdown.

While there is much debate about whether the play should remain in the game or not, President Donald Trump showed which side of the fence he is on during the team’s celebration of the White House for their Super Bowl Lix victory on Monday afternoon.

When he discussed that 40-22 victory over Kansas City Chiefs, for which Trump was present in New Orleans, he mentioned that their first touchdown scored, which was evil that was pushed into the end zone to take the lead.

“Eagles scored a touchdown on their signature games: tush -push. You know what it is? I hope they keep that game train, I don’t know,” Trump said, looking at Eagle’s head coach Nick Sirianni. “They talk about getting rid of the spectacle I understand it. They have to keep it. What do you think saquon [Barkley]?

“I like it. It’s kind of exciting and different.”

NFL owners are expected to continue to discuss a potential ban on the play after submitting it until the next owners meet on 20-21. May in Minnesota.

Packers had 16 teams supporting its proposal, but at least 24 owners must approve the change in order for it to pass.

The rule change specifically indicates a ban on an offensive player who has the ability to immediately push his teammate who is set up directly behind the snapper and receives snap.

The NFL does not usually approve rules that are targeted at a specific team that this seems to do. While it is a legal acting, Eagles have paid tremendously from it in the last three seasons. Only the Buffalo calculations have come far close to Eagles’ success, after using their own version of it a significant amount of quarterback Josh Allen, the league’s MVP, last season.

However, Trump wants the league to return to something they changed in the 2024 season: Kickoffs.

“I want to see something done,” he said. “However, I would like to return to the regular kickoff. We do not like the kickoff where no one is moving. The ball is in the air and no one moves.”

NFL owners changed the kickoff structure for the 2025 season as Touchbacks will be marked at the 35-yard line, a step expected to raise return prices.

But Trump won’t be happy to see that players still don’t run down the field as they used to do. They have to wait until the ball touches the ground or the return man comes into contact with the ball.

Trump, Eagles and anyone else who loves the NFL is waiting patiently to see if tush -push will remain in the game.
