ATC postponing GHQ -Recreation case attempt again

The prison attempt in the general attack case (GHQ) attack has been postponed again, which marked the seventh delay over a two and a half months in which the case had moved at a rapid pace with hearings twice a week.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah of Anti-Terrorism Court postponed the procedure without any action planning the next hearing on May 3rd.

On this date, all 14 cases related to the May 9 riots registered at various Police Stations in the Rawalpindi Division will be heard.

However, lawyers from both sides have also excluded the possibility of a prison attempt on the next date.

The Court has also ordered the complete submission of Fees in ten other cases, while copies of charging sheets in three other cases related to the events of vandalism in Waris Khan, Cantt and Hazro Police Stations are still distributed among the defendants.

On Monday, Magistrate Mujtaba Hassan and Sub-Inspector Riaz, who testify in the GHQ attack case, have not once again shown despite being called.

The court registered the participation of high -profile accused, including former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the leader of the opposition Omar Ayub Khan, Alia Hamza and Basharat Raja, among others.
