Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar has said that credible intelligence reports suggest that India is planning military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours using the recent Pahagam attack in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as a pretext.

In a video statement sent late on Tuesday, he said India is based on its alleged plans on “baseless and self-made accusations” related to the Pahagam incident where 26 people were killed.

“There is a verified intelligence indicating that India intends to perform a military operation against Pakistan. India uses the Pahagam incident as a justification for aggression,” the minister said.

He warned that any kind of aggression from India would be met with a decisive and strong reaction. “Pakistan will keep India fully responsible for the potentially disastrous consequences in the region,” he added.

By rejecting India’s narrative, the minister said that Pakistan rejects New Delhi’s self -imposed role as “plaintiff, judge and executioner” in regional affairs. He reiterated that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism for over two decades and condemned terrorism in all its forms globally.

Tarar said Pakistan had served as a responsible state after the Pahagam incident by offering an independent and neutral study to uncover facts and motives behind the attack. “Unfortunately, India chose the path of irrationality and confrontation,” he noted.

He also claimed that India’s refusal to accept an independent study postponing his underlying motives. “The use of such attacks to pursue political goals is both unfortunate and condemnable,” he said.

By confirming Pakistan’s attitude, he concluded by saying, “Any military adventureism from India will receive a particular and decisive response. The international community must acknowledge that the responsibility for any catastrophic escalation will rest exclusively in India. The population of Pakistan will defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity at any cost.”
