You can see the rumored and predicted Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 specifications in the diagram above, but the biggest and most exciting upgrade we might get on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a new 200MP main camera.
This would replace the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 50MP main camera and is probably the same sensor found on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
We have heard this claim quite many times now, so there is a good chance that it will happen and it would be a very desirable upgrade, considering that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, 5 and 6 have all had 50MP main cameras.
Also on the front of the camera, it is reported that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have an upgraded under-display camera. The source does not specify what these improvements will be, but the Galaxy Z Fold 6 just has a 4MP, so maybe there will be more megapixels.
According to a source, the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s other rear cameras are not upgraded, which means we will see a return of Z Fold 6’s 12MP Ultra-covering and 10MP television (with 3x optical zoom).
Go on to the screens and these can be in an upgrade – or at least an increase in size, with sources suggesting that Z Fold 7’s main display could either be 8 or 8.2 inches and the tire screen could be 6.5 inches. It is up from 7.6 and 6.3 inches on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 respectively.
There is no word about the resolution yet, but we expect it to match or exceed the Z Fold 6s, which means a resolution of at least 1856 x 2160 for the collapsible screen and at least 968 x 2376 for the tire screen. We would also expect both screens to have a 120Hz update rate as this is the case on the current model.
The other big upgrade we expect on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is its chipset, with reports suggesting that the Snapdragon 8 elite will be used.
That’s the chipset you find in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, and that’s exactly what we would expect to see as it is the successor to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used by Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The new chipset could be joined with a larger steam chamber so that performance can get a big boost. However, we do not expect an increase in RAM, with several sources pointing to 12 GB again. Storage also remains the same with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB models allegedly planned.
Finally, there is the battery, and unfortunately it is not meant to rise in size, with a 4,400mAh battery tilted to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, the display is apparently more effective, which can lead to improved battery life, although the battery itself is not a bigger this year.
We haven’t heard what speeds Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 possibly charge, but Galaxy Z Fold 6 supports the 25W cable and 15W wireless charging, so we would at least expect it.
