Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday awarded bail to Sahir Hassan, son of actor Sajid Hassan, in a drug side involving the recovery of 557 grams of cannabis.
The court also ordered Hassan to submit a bail of RS1 million, Express News reported.
The case, investigated by Karachi South Police, came from Hassan’s arrest on February 22, 2025 in the Refense Housing Authority area. He remained in judge for over two months.
A constitutional bench of SHC approved guarantee facility after hearing arguments from both sides. The court recognized the extended duration of custody and ordered conditional release while the procedure continues.
According to a preliminary Challan presented last month before the legal magistrate South, Hassan allegedly confessed to transferring drug revenue to a bank account administered by his father’s business union.
The court subsequently called the manager and instructed him to submit supporting banking documents to verify the transactions.
However, from the recent hearing, the manager has failed to submit any financial items or declarations to address the claim.
On the other hand, District and Sessions Judge South has awarded a five-day physical custody of the accused, Armaghan, to Cybercrime Wing in a case related to the operation of an illegal call center.
The hearing took place in a Karachi Rates Hall where Armaghan was presented via video link.
The FIA cybercrime officials requested the physical custody and said the suspect is accused of running an illegal call center and transferring cryptocurrency.
They said a physical custody was important to conduct technical examinations.
The court accepted the request and handed Armaghan for custody of the cybercrime wing for five days. The prison authorities were also instructed to transfer his custody accordingly.
