US Olympic Sprinter arrested for allegedly striking ex-boyfriend

2024 Bronze Medal Fred Kerley was arrested on Thursday, days before competing at a trace meeting to allegedly beat his ex-boyfriend.

According to TMZ, quoting an arrest report, Dania Beach police arrived at a hotel in South Florida before 1 p.m. 8am one after the Olympic Hurdler Alaysha Johnson claimed Kerley hit her during a conditioning agreement for the meeting.

Kerley said he “was going to F – K all up here,” Johnson said.

Kerley allegedly claimed to have hit Johnson on her face, causing her nose to bleed. Police allegedly said the injuries “were in line with her statements.”

Kerley was to run in the 100 meter strike on Saturday and 200 meters on Sunday at the Grand Slam Track event this weekend. The event later confirmed that Kerley would not compete.

The New York Post reported that Kerley had been booked on a first degree of wrongdoing with wrongdoing.

Back in January, Kerley was hit by a domestic violence in a non -related incident from last year after he was arrested after a quarrel with police.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by Pakinomist Digital, Kerley and his wife came in a verbal and then physically, dispute on May 6, 2024 – his birthday – when Kerley’s wife was in contact with an “unknown person on Instagram.”

Kerley approached his wife aggressively and she struck him out of fear, according to the statement. Kerley then grabbed “The victim, pushed her to the ground, surrounded her arm around her throat and hindered her breathing.”

A probable causal warning was then entered into the prison system and he was then indicted after the arrest in January.

Kerley won a bronze medal in Paris in the summer at 100 meters while teammate Noah Lyles served his first Olympic gold. Kerley won the World Cup in 2022 in the event and silver in the Tokyo Olympics.

He also has world championships in the 4×400-meter baton in 2019 and the 4×100-meter baton in 2023.

Kerley was part of the 4×100-meter team in Paris, which was disqualified due to a beaten delivery. Lyles expected to be part of this team, but got sick by Covid earlier this week, which helped him to short in the 200 meters, an event for which he had been the heavy favorite.
