Indian Court declares Kashmiri -Leader as ‘proclaimed offender’

The Indian Court of Court under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has declared Senior all parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement JKSM Alt by Ahmed Bhat a Proclambled Offender (PO).

The NIA Court issued an prosecution against Bhat from Srinagar, who has lived in Pakistan since the 1990s. The court accused him of involvement in several cases. It also ordered his arrest and production in court that authorized the Indian police to catch him, no matter where he was to be found, including in Pakistan.

In response to the development, Altaf Ahmed Bhat strongly condemned the decision of the Indian Court of Justice.

In a statement, Bhat said, “Kashmiris will not be intimidated by India’s dishonest tactics. No amount of oppression or arrests will deter us.”

He further criticized the Indian government for exploiting the Pahagam incident as a pretext to launch Israel-style operations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir IIOJK.

According to Bhat, these operations have led to mass demolition of homes, the displacement of kashmiri families and the expulsion of kashmiri students from Indian educational institutions.

He emphasized that over 4,000 innocent Kashmiris has been arrested, where many families were torn apart separated from sons, wives of men and children from parents who resulted in what he described as a “heartbreaking humanitarian tragedy that was unmatched in the modern world.”

Kashmir has become a nuclear flashpoint that pushes both India and Pakistan two nuclear armed nations to the brink of war, Bhat said.

He urged international organizations and the United Nations to take immediate and meaningful action to resolve Kashmir -Tvist in accordance with relevant UN decisions. “Delaying a fair solution to the Kashmir question could lead to disastrous consequences for the entire region,” he concluded.
