Andrew Giuliani, son of former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani, was appointed CEO of the White House Task Force for 2026 FIFA World Cup Tuesday.
President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday in a truth post on Tuesday after holding the first official meeting with the Task Force. Members of his cabinet and FIFA president Gianni Infantino were also present.

“I’m proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Giuliani as CEO of the President’s Task Force on the FIFA world championship in 2026,” Trump’s announcement said.

“During my first period, Andrew served as a special assistant to the president and associate director of the Office of Public Liaison, where he played a key role in creating the system that enabled athletes from around the world to enter the United States during the reopening of America by 2020.”
In March, Trump signed a executive order to create the Task Force for the Football Tournament, which will host the US, Canada and Mexico. Trump will act as chairman of the Task Force, while Vice President JD Vance will serve as Vice -President. As CEO, Giuliani is tasked with managing and supervising daily operations.
In a speech with press members after the meeting, Trump praised Giuliani and his father and called the latter the “greatest” mayor of New York’s history.

“He wants to be great. I have known him for a long time. He is a very competitive golfer, really good. He is also a very competitive person and he loves what we are doing. I will congratulate you and your family and your father, your great father, the greatest mayor of the story in New York,” said Trump, and jokingly added, “it’s a big post.
Trump also announced on Tuesday that Carlos Cordiro, a FIFA Senior Advisor, will serve as a senior adviser in the Task Force.
“I know Andrew and Carlos will work tirelessly to make the FIFA world championship in 2026 a 2026 unprecedented success.”

Expected to be one of Greatest international sporting events, The World Cup’s host cities expect nearly half a million visitors with a potential economic impact of up to $ 480 million that will benefit tourism, hospitality and retail industries.
The international tournament spanning North America begins in June 2026 and is the first World Cup for more than two decades taking place in several countries. Most of the games take place in the US in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
