- The American Dod wants to improve the safety of unlocking for greater supply chain visibility
- A new software that is the Fast-Track initiative arrives in the next 90 days
- DOGE HAVE already saved dead 6 billion dollars
The US Department of Defense (DOD) plans to review its outdated software systems, as it hopes, will improve security and supply chain visibility in a world of rising vulnerabilities.
Dod Cio Katherine Arrington introduced Software Fast -Track (Swft) Initiative for Reform of Software Collection as well as Authorization and Testing in a MEMO published online.
Arrington confirmed that DOD, together with the sub -defense of acquisition and maintenance, intelligence and security and research and technology, will submit the Swft frames within 90 days.
Dated software purchasing processes
In the memo, Arrington explained that the Swft frameworks will define “clear” and “specific” cyber security and agile chain risk steering (SCRM) requirements, strict software security processes, secure information sharing mechanisms and federal government-led risk options to accelerate cyberzcurity authorizations.
She continued to explain that the current systems are best seen as “outdated”, noting that acquisition processes do not allow the agility that departments need.
Arrington also noted that the use of open source software “presents a significant and ongoing challenge” with a lack of visibility in the origin and security of software code that is particularly worrying.
Malware and partner leaks have already exposed vulnerabilities in death systems with software vulnerability among the most popular entrances for attackers.
DOD’s statement emphasizes plans to eliminate duplicative and wasting processes and have a ring of DODE to it. Musk’s Efficiency Department has already saved billions over the various agencies of the US government, with DOD already said to have saved a cumulative and non-important sum of about $ 6 billion to date.
