I struggled to get started with today’s search for smart things and used a tip. Gaudy put me on the way and the double z unlocked snazzy.
What this puzzle really needed was a tip that flashed to us for extra distraction.
Ooh Shiny is one of the universal meme phrases whose origin has been lost in the fog of the time – it can be pokemon or the simpsons, it may be crossed or minecraft, the role crew of fireplane or Gustav Kilimt. Who knows that? Gemini Ai certainly does not explain that: “The phrase ‘ooh shiny’ has probably been given traction through its repeated use of different characters that embody a childish or animalist attraction to bright and sparkling things.”
As a slightly distracted person, I become prey to “ooh shining” quite a lot, although it is often a package of something I can eat.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
