A Lacrosse player in high school from Ohio died this week at the age of 16 after a freak accident during a game.
Dylan Veselic, another at Bay Village High School, died Thursday after taking a ball upside down two days before.
Veselic was injured after a shot from an opponent hit the back of his head under his helmet. He underwent an operation on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough.

“We are deeply touched by the overwhelming support and kindness shown by our society and beyond. We ask that you continue to keep in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time,” the family said in a statement.
“Dylan was a dedicated student and athlete, and we are heart -bred by this loss,” said Bay Village School’s Superintendent Scot Prever in a statement via Cleveland.com. “Counseling Services are available at Bay High School for students, staff and family who need support.”
A fundraiser in honor of Veselic has raised over $ 80,000; Its target was only $ 500.

Those in the community have left both Lacrosse and Hockey Peaks and Football Balls on their porches and lawns to support.

“Dylan was an amazing student who always had a smile on his face while supporting his colleagues,” added athletic director Matt Spellman in Bay Village Matt Spellman.
“He was friendly, hardworking and dedicated and showed consistent leadership, empathy and a positive attitude both in the field and in the classroom.”
Veselic was listed as captain of the team at MaxPreps.
This was his second season at Varsity, where he played for the Varsity team as a beginner. He played in 25 high school matches.

The team canceled a game on Thursday the day he died for a prayer service. Their next game is scheduled for Tuesday.
