The epicenter was located 34 kilometers west of Ashkāsham, Afghanistan, at a depth of 233.7 kilometers below the Hindu Kush Mountains.

Due to the depth of the earthquake, its surface impact was limited.

No damage or material damage was reported in Pakistan, although residents of areas such as chitral, Upper Dir and nearby valleys experienced mild shakes.

The region falls within an active seismic zone where deep earthquakes are common, often resulting in wide but gentle shaking.

Pakistan’s northwestern terrain, close to the tectonic collision zone, regularly experiences such seismic events.
