Nigella Lawson revealed why she believes her skin still looks youthful and said the secret is much simpler than many people think.
The TV chef said she has never had Botox or fillers. Instead, she believes that staying out of the sun and accepting herself has helped her over the years.
speaks to The mirrorsaid Nigella that she is “allergic to the sun”, meaning she avoids being out in direct sunlight for most of her life.
The TV star also believes that good genes have played a big role.
“I’m a big fan of butter. I just eat whatever I want. I enjoy life, but I also know myself. I don’t punish myself for trying to look like a model,” she said.
Nigella added: “I really think the skin is genetic. I’m also allergic to the sun so I don’t go in the sun and it makes a difference.
It’s been like this all my life, but it’s gotten worse. I just can’t get into it. It’s actually boring.”
The 66-year-old also added that she has no plans to get cosmetic treatments.
“Having a bit of fat on the face helps. I don’t do fillers or anything like that. Cosmetic work is a tyranny. I just think there’s no point,” she explained.
Nigella also spoke about getting older, saying she feels lucky to be old after losing her mother, sister and first husband to cancer.
“It would be immoral for me to complain about aging,” she said. “Life is precious.”
