Shedeur Sanders went to the microphone on Saturday to talk to journalists at Cleveland Brown’s Rookie MiniCamp. The Incoming Brown’s Quarterback Field Questions about President Donald Trump’s decision to speak under Sanders’ NFL draft slide and compete for the starting job.
But the 23-year-old also took a moment to tackle questions about the Jersey number he has to wear during his first season in the NFL.
On Tuesday, Brown’s Jersey numbers released their rookie class and free agents. The message confirmed that Sanders would carry No. 12.

“My signing bonus is not so high right now,” Sanders said.
Sanders landed several remarkable names, image and equality (NIL) during his collegial career.
He was expected to go as early as # 2 overall before his much-discussed NFL draft of slide. Browns chose the signal caller in the fifth round.

Shedu ended 2024 college football season with 4,134 passing yards. He joins a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland, which also includes Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett.
Gabriel, which Browns drafted in the third round, took an equal number of snaps like Sanders under an approx. 90 minute exercise session at MiniCamp.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski complimented both rookies.
“I think the fun part is that we have spent so much predraft time with these players, especially when we talk about our quarterbacks with Dillon and Shedur,” he said. “We have spent meeting time with them out of this building. We have taken them through review, and then they will do it in uniform with helmets and just see what they can take from the meeting room to the grass.”
