Florida Gator’s baseball team opened their three-game series against Texas Longhorns with an 8-2 win. But much of the scrap ended up turning around a Texas player’s bat.
Jonah Williams, a beginner in Texas, seemed to trigger some dissatisfaction from Florida faithful late in the game. Longhorns that draw 8-1 in the seventh lap did not prevent Williams from making exuberant expressions in response to apparently every pitch he saw when he was in the batter’s box.

Texas had a runner on the base under Williams’ much -discussed bats. If Williams was running in the runner, the deficit would have been cut to six.

Nevertheless, Texas used her time in the batter’s box to pump up and apparently to encourage his teammates not to give up.

But Williams’ tactics quickly seemed to evolve from motivating to mocking.
Williams ultimately won a free trip to the first base after four seats landed outside the strike zone. But during his walk to first, Williams threw his bat aside and nodded with his head.

The behavior triggered some questions from fans and other observers, considering that he was not ready to circle the bases after a home drive or another clutch base hit.
Some critics even suggested Williams’ dictated a response from Florida’s baseball team. On Saturday, the second game in the series, Williams stepped up to the record and hit a basic clearing double. Hitten helped lift Texas to a 5-2 win.
The third game in the series is set for this afternoon.
Williams also plays for Texas football teams.
