Shilo Sanders doesn’t get as much attention as his little brother, Sheeteur, by Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rookie Minicamp.
But it doesn’t matter as long as he continues to impress his new coaches.
Shilo Sanders signed with Buccaneers, a team in need of a certain secondary help to enter the 2025 season, hoping he can crack the 53-man list Come Week 1st. And while training camp is still a few months away, he has done a good job of doing a good first impression on head coach Todd Bowles.

“Like the rest of the safety, he is very intelligent, he is very tall,” Bowles said. “You can hear him (on the field), make calls and everything, so he has a good grip on things day 1. There were about three or four of them doing it. He was one of them, but you have to play in pillows. That’s what it comes to – knowing what to do, and then do it consistently and constantly get better every day.”
Sanders also knows how a good impression on the media can work in his favor as he made sure to shake all their hands under his availability. After the introductions were completed, he discussed this opportunity.

“Man, look at where we’re on,” he said. “Look at the whole coaching staff. It’s a truly supportive coaching staff. Everyone will see everyone doing well. Everyone on the team, we will all see each other win. It’s a good environment to thrive in.”
Sanders has also impressed his new teammates, including the third round pick Jacob Parrish.
“He’s very smart,” he said. “He helped me a lot with the adjustments. I’m excited about working with him.”

As a member of the secondary, Sanders has always been compared to his Hall of Fame father, Deion Sanders, who is only natural. But the 25-year-old simply wants to work, and thanks Buccaneers for the opportunity to show them that he can help this season.
“They gave me a chance for someone, so I’m always grateful for Buccaneers and I just want to do everything I can to help this team win,” he said. “That’s all I want.”
Antoine Winfield Jr. is the Pro Bowl veteran about Bowles’ defense, so free security is the only probable place for Sanders. However, any good secondary depth of needs is and these players are also critical pieces on special teams.
Sanders believes he can separate himself from the package by showing that he can force revenue.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always been a guy who gets the ball out in any way, shape or shape,” he said. “Forced fumbles, pick, I’ll get the ball. That’s the whole point of playing defense. We will get that violation of the ball.”
