NBA Playoffs: Refs Eject Pacers’ Bennedict Mathurin after incident

Cleveland Cavaliers tips De’Andre Hunter and Indiana Pacers Guard Bennedict Mathurin were involved in a quarrel early in their game 4 playoff -matchup on Sunday night.

The incident took place with 4:32 back in the first quarter when Pacers broke out to a 12-point lead. The broadcast showed Indiana by throwing the ball in as Hunter was seen pushing Mathurin to the ground. Pacers Star Myles Turner was involved in defending Mathurin.

While it looked like Hunter was starting the incident, replays showed that Mathurin hit Hunter in the mid -section when Indiana was set to throw the ball in. Hunter goes up to Mathurin, points to him and pushes him to the floor.

Officials assessed a flagant II error against Mathurin after a review. The dolved technical violations out to Hunter and Turner.

Hunter and Mathurin already had some beef during the series. Mathurin challenged Hunter at the edge under a thump in the game 1. The two received double technical errors as their competitive styles crossed the line of the judges’ taste in Game 3.

Indiana led the series 2-1 came into Game 4.

The pacers started hot on Sunday night and finished the first quarter 38-23. Indiana came out of the game and shoots 53.8% off the field and 60% from 3-point range.

Cavaliers shot only 26.7% from the field in the first quarter and 37.5% from the range of 3-point.
