I like to get the connecting groups in order of difficulties. I feel like my brain slowly ratchets through the gears in preparation of the hardest quartets.
However, I cannot deny that I also feel a feeling of disappointment when I first turn yellow – especially in a day when all four seemed just as easy!
The only group I felt doubted was kind of pizza, but this was due to cultural differences. Plain pizza is not something that exists in England, although I guess it means cheese and tomato as opposed to the dough with absolutely nothing on it.
I met someone at a festival a couple of years ago running a pizza restaurant and he said he banned anyone who asked for a Hawaii or pineapple on their pizza.
This seems incredibly snobch and hard as cheese, pineapple and ham is a classic combination – or at least it was in the 1970s when each of them was found together on a cocktail stick. And as we know, all the best food from the 1970s comes!
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.

What are new connections?
New Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four objects that share something in common, and each group has another level of difficulty: green is light, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you do not have to technically solve the last one, as you can answer one by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four errors, giving you a little bit of breathing room.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to get up with tricks. For example, be careful on gay and other word games that can hide the answers.
It can be played free of charge via the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
