Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Mohsin Naqvi has officially appointed former New Zealand Cricketer Mike Hesson as the new head coach of Pakistan’s White-Ball team, Pakinomist Super reported.

The appointment comes into force from May 26.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of the former New Zealand cricketer and the famous coach Mike Hesson as the white ball head coach of Pakistan men’s team, Naqvi said in a post on X.

Hesson’s appointment comes ahead of Pakistan’s five-match T20i series against Bangladesh this month.

But with the revised schedule for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, which now has its big final on May 25, the T20i series against Bangladesh will probably be delayed.

The opening match in Faisalabad was originally scheduled for May 25, but the series will be re -planned with the PSL final overlapping.

Kiwi cricketer brings a wealth of experience to the role. He served as New Zealand’s main coach from 2012 to 2018 and succeeded John Wright.

Under his leadership, New Zealand achieved considerable success on the global scene. Hesson has also coached in the High -Pressure Indian Premier League (IPL), which further strengthens his credentials as a coach capable of thriving with challenging environments.
