Bee Maps, a project on HIVAPS, one of the largest decentralized physical infrastructure networks (Depin), which focused on mapping Solana, shared on Wednesday that it has joined forces with Ride-Hailing giant Lyft to give them more accurate mapping data.
The move emphasizes the growing role that crowddsourced geospatial intelligence in the transport industry, signaling that riding sharing companies are facing this type of infrastructure for better maps.
HIVERS allow drivers to contribute to mapping data using AI-activated DASH CAMS that automatically detect and update real-time changes on roads-as construction zones or changed road signs-hold you with digital maps current and accurate.
“In order for mobility to actually work and for autonomy to become reality, cards cannot be a reflection-they have to be crowddsourced, live, accurate and open,” said Ariel Seidman, CEO and co-founder of Bee Maps, in a press release with Coindesk. “We are proud to move a real innovator like Lyft with the constantly updated spatial street -level intelligence that enables their vision.”
Bee Maps is an application built on the top of the HIVAPSAPS NETTHER, which is part of the growing depin (decentralized physical infrastructure network) movement that utilizes blockchain incentives to create the development of the real world’s infrastructure. In Bee Maps’ case, contributors earn crypto rewards to collect street-level images using HIVAPER CAMERAS. This data is processed with AI to extract important functions – such as road signs, track markings and design zones – which are constantly updated on the platform.
The move between Lyft and Bee Maps comes when Natix, another Depin shortage project at Solana, shared it has teamed up with Taxi Service Grab, to offer better mapping technologies.

Correction (14 May 2025, 16:02 UTC): Clarify about the relationship between BI -Card and HIVAPS through history and changed the hot to reflect that Lyft tapped HIVAPS, NOT BI cards.
