It’s a bleak sight for Boston, but Barstol -Sport Founder Dave Portnoy, who predicted the series was over after Boston won Game 3, hoping to use his Celtic’s fandom powers for good.

Portnoy said he ran into a Knicks star in a Boston hotel before Game 5 and gave him a message.

“I saw Mikal Bridges at the hotel this morning. I gave him a subtle, ‘Hi, not to break your wrist,'” Portnoy said in his outlets.

Portnoy said it was a “joke.”

“He was a bit like a bar stool guy. He knocked on me and I’m like ‘okay.’ And he’s like, ‘Hello, good to see you,’ Portnoy added.

Bridges is one of several “Nova Knicks” that also includes Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Villanova Alumnus Donte Divincenzo was traded for Minnesota Timberwolves along with Julius Randle for Karl-Anthony Towns in Offseason. Brunson, Hart, Divincenzo and Bridges all won a national championship with wildcats.

New York came back from 20-point deficits in both Games 1 and 2, which was played in Boston, and Bridges played key roles in both matches. He got the game-winning steal in Game 1 and blocked a potential Summer beat in Game 2.

But Boston would not give up such a lead in Game 3, which made many people wonder if Knicks’ race was a fluke.

In games 4, Knicks pulled back double digits again in the second half, and it didn’t phase them at all. They ended the third quarter of a 30-13 race to take a three-point lead, and another 18-5 race late in the fourth completed the comeback after Tatum was injured.
