Pete Rose and his family repeatedly tried to get MLBS all the time Hit King back in baseball without success.
On Tuesday, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced someone on Baseball’s unjustified list would be removed from the list at the time of their death.
This meant that Rose’s ban from baseball had been lifted, which made him entitled to the Hall of Fame consideration.

The message came just over 24 hours before Roses Cincinnati Reds hosted Pete Rose Night, a party previously planned for the legend who died in September.
Members of Rose’s family and other red greatnesses were at first name ceremony, and Rose’s daughter, Fawn, shared her reaction to the news.
“By getting out of yesterday’s news, we boarded a plane in Seattle and I got a phone call around 10:15 am. And I got a phone call from our lawyer … I would like to be what was here at this podium announced that the ban had been lifted, but I am so glad we can celebrate it tonight. One step at a time.”
Fawn Rose then praised the commissioner for his discussions about his father when the family met with Manfred shortly after Pete Rose died.
“The feeling was overwhelming. I called [Pete Jr.]. My kids thought someone died because I was emotional at the airport, but it was a big thing. And during my meeting with the Commissioner, the Commissioner was so grateful, ”she said.

“He was gracious, friendly, really gave me a forum to talk about my father – not the baseball player, but the father, the grandfather and really what he means for the fans of Cincinnati. And I was able to take from that visit here in Cincinnati and the expression of commissioner it is in our DNA.
Other players now eligible include “Shoeless” Joe Jackson and the rest of Black Sox from 1919. Overall, 17 players are now baseball eligible.
Rose admitted to playing in 2004 after years of asserting his innocence. He died in September and predicted 10 days before his death he would not make the Hall of Fame before he died, If at all.
MLB determined Rose Gambled on the Reds, only to win while he was both a manager and a player.

In 1991, two years after Rose was banned by A. Bartlett Giamatti, the National Baseball Hall of Fame voted to make those who were not eligible from baseball who were not eligible for potential induction to Cooperstown.
It is not yet official when Rose will be on a vote, but it is likely to be up to the classic baseball range that is considering players whose career ended more than 15 years ago. This committee first meets in December 2027 and he would need 12 of the 16 votes to enter.
