Boston Red Sox-Outfielders Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela combined to the rare 9-8 Putout in the team’s 6-5 loss to Detroit Tigers Wednesday in Comerica Park.
With the scoring tied 5-5 at the bottom of the seventh lap, crushed tigers, which designated the hitter Kerry Carpenter, a high fastball out of Liam Hendriks deep to the right centers field.
Abreu, Red Sox’s right Fielder, asked the ball as he moved back to the wall. Abreu jumped and got his glove on it, but couldn’t pull it in, and the ball jumped out of his glove back in the playing field as it was set to go over the wall for a walk-head home drive for carpenter.

Rafaela, Red Sox’s Center Fielder, ran over to back up abreu, and the ball was caromed by Abreus’s glove and right to Rafaela.
Rafaela reacted and grabbed the ball with his bare hand and then put it in his glove.
After the catch, Rafaela hoisted the glove over his head and showed the ball while Abreu celebrated the unlikely game of high -fucking Rafaela.
Hendriks raised his arms up in disbelief when Red Sox outfielders not only brought back a home drive back into play, but made it one out.

The last 9-8 Putout before Red Sox Wednesday was September 14, 2003, when Minnesota Twins’ Michael Ryan lost the ball in the sun and it hit his head and Dustan Mohr caught it.
While the Tigers were kept away from the scoreboard in the seventh round of the miraculous spectacle of Abreu and Rafaela, they were not denied in the ninth lap.

Malloy lined a single to center field and gave Tigers their other straight walk-off victory over Red Sox.
