DUBAI: Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher, who serves as a police officer at Sargodha City Police Station, has made the nation proud by winning the prestigious ‘expertise in criminal investigation’ for the award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards, held in Dubai.
The international honor recognizes her extraordinary investigative work and professional leadership and places Pakistan’s law enforcement on the global stage.
The award was awarded during a magnificent ceremony hosted by the DUBAI police, participated by police leaders and security experts from over 90 countries.
Anum Khan gained this recognition for leading and solving two high-profile murder studies in Pakistan’s Punjab Province. In the first case, she monitored the investigation of the tragic death of 12-year-old houseworker Ayesha Bibi, who was brutally murdered. Under her command, Sargodha arrested the suspects within 72 hours and served widespread appreciation from both the public and government officials, including the Punjab Chief Minister.
In another remarkable case, she led the rapid arrest of suspects involved in the murder of a young man named Mohsin, ensuring justice within only 24 hours. Both studies demonstrated not only her command of exploration procedures, but also her commitment to timely and fair justice. Her leadership in these cases had previously earned her official praise and recognition from the Punjab police.
Organized under the Patronage of the UAE government, World Police Summit is one of the most prominent global platforms to recognize expertise in police work. Anum Khan was chosen from more than 900 submissions from around the world, highlighting the importance of her contribution.
Anum Khan, who spoke after receiving the award in Dubai, said, “It’s a proud moment for Pakistan and Punjab police. I am honored to represent my country and show that we are able not only to maintain law and order, but to achieve international police stand. This award is a tribute to my entire team and the values we maintain.”
Her performance is seen as a significant milestone for Pakistan’s law enforcement authorities, especially the Punjab police, as it reflects the growing professionalism and capacity of its officers. It also sends a strong message that Pakistani police women play a leading role in the design of the future of law enforcement – both nationally and internationally.
