Senators praise armed forces victory over India

Islamabad:

The Senators praised Pakistan’s armed forces on Friday for giving an appropriate response to the enemy’s aggression and condemned the “fascist and expansionist agenda”, which was pursued by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The house, who met here with presidential officer Sherry Rehman in the President, continued the discussion of the ongoing tensions with India. During the session, Senator Dinesh Kumar, who belongs to the Hindu community, announced RS5 million donation to the families of martyrs.

At the beginning of the session, opposition leader Shibli Faraz from PTI complained to the reigning party legislators. He said the session had been called to discuss the Indian aggression, but some senators spoke against the PTI leader.

PML-N-parliamentary leader Irfan Siddiqui, while responding to Faraz’s objection, said no one should talk about any leader. He told the house that on three occasions during Thursday’s session he prevented the senators from speaking against anyone.

“Yesterday I told my party member that we can’t talk on May 9, let’s only speak on May 10th. It is not appropriate for us to offend leaders in the house,” he said. Siddiqui said India was an enemy of democracy. “Modi has shown the Indian people’s dishonest design of attacking Pakistan.”

He praised the people for maintaining unity. “Pakistan’s forces gave an appropriate answer to the enemy, and India remains and wonder how its planes were shot down. The most positive aspect of India’s aggression and Pakistan’s wonderful victory is that we and the opposition are on the same side.”

Participation in a debate Senator Ali Zafar said that the recent Indian aggression had again proven that Pakistan remained elastic, united and fully able to defend his sovereignty against any kind of aggression.

“China stood by us, and even neutral states began to question India’s narrative and recognized Pakistan’s responsible behavior,” he added. He proposed a common parliamentary committee to monitor water issues and ensure national emergency preparedness in future conflicts.

Nasir Abbas said Modi was a fascist leader and ‘the butcher of Gujarat’, whose politics was rooted in hatred and Bigotry. “His failed attempts to crush Kashmiri people and provoke regional conflict is bound back,” he said. (With input from app)
