Former Pakistan captain and famous all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi met with the prime minister in Pakistan.

During this meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, Shahid Afridi congratulated prime minister Shehbaz Sharif with the remarkable success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

The Federal Minister of Information Information Attaullah Tarar was also present during the meeting. Shahid Khan Afridi praised the armed forces for giving a strong answer to India’s aggression.

He said the whole nation united and gave a powerful response to the enemy at this critical time. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Shahid Afridi, congratulated him with his solidarity with the nation and the armed forces and praised the successful rally held.

Previously, Shahid Afridi strongly criticized India during a period of increased tension between the two countries. Afridi condemned the Indian government of its aggression and expressed full confidence in the strength and emergency preparedness of Pakistan’s military.

He dismissed India’s threats and said that Pakistan’s forces were highly educated and not easily frightened. In response to accusations connecting Pakistan with the Pahagam attack, Afridi called it a “false flag surgery” and the Modi government “excellent”.

Following his remarks, India reportedly blocked Afridi’s YouTube channel along with 15 other Pakistani channels, including those from former Cricketers Rashid Latif, Shoaib Akhtar and Basit Ali.

Afridi also jumped out on Indian media for its excessive war coverage and referred to it as “Cartoon Network” journalism. His comments resonate with many Pakistanis who thought Indian TV stations burned conflict rather than reporting responsibly.

Afridi praised Pakistan’s armed forces for what he described as a strong reaction to Indian aggression and said that India had underestimated the cost of provoking Pakistan. He accused Indian forces of targeting civil and religious places, including mosques.

Afridi also criticized Modi’s global image and referred claims related to attacks on SIKH activists abroad. He said Modi was now facing international consequences for his actions.

Rally, part of the government-declared “YouM-E-Taskur” (gratitude Day), so that thousands of citizens express their support for the armed forces.

Tensions between Pakistan and India recently flared up after an attack in Pahalam, India illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), killed 26 people. India accused Pakistan without presenting evidence, triggering a number of retaliatory movements, including suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, cancellation of Visa and the downscaling of diplomatic ties.

Pakistan rejected the claims and responded with mutual steps as stopping trade and closing its airspace to Indian aircraft. The conflict escalated on May 7 with Indian missile attacks on several cities in Punjab and AJK and killed dozens of civilians.

Pakistan responded by diminishing multiple Indian jets and neutralizing drone attacks. The 10th of May strikes Indian missiles targeting Pakistani Airbases, which led to a retaliatory campaign – Operation Bunyan Marsoos – which hit Indian military places.

A ceasefire was announced by US President Donald Trump on May 11 after diplomatic efforts overnight and was later confirmed by officials from both sides.
