Michael Cera and Wes Anderson have joined forces with the upcoming movie The Phoenician scheme.
This is the first time the artistic duo has worked together. The actor was tapped to play in Asteroid CityBut he had to drop after the birth of his son.
Now the movie is set to premiere at Cannes. Michael told Black How he signed up for the film.
“Just by Wes asked! I mean it was such a no-brainer and would always be for me to have an invitation from him,” the Juno Said Star.
“I’ve been working with him since I saw” The Royal Tenenbaums “in theaters, so I was just so excited to have the opportunity.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Michael revealed how long he has known Wes and said, “I have known Wes over the years socially. We met a long time ago – it takes place 20 years or something. We met right at a meeting, but we have been in contact over the years.”
“Wes has actually been very encouraging with me with some of the projects I have tried to create. He has read things and he has just been helpful and supportive. And of course I always hoped to have the chance to be on one of his sets,” he added.
The Phoenician scheme will be out on 30 May.
