After April’s annual meetings in Florida, ESPN reported that the vote on the notorious spectacle was a smooth split. Sixteen votes in favor of holding tush and 16 votes to ban it would leave the proposal to ban the play eight votes not passing. Per NFL policy requires a proposal that 24 votes be adopted.

“My personal opinion? I think they should forbid it,” Luvu told the NFL Network. “But I know the argument is going to be about, ‘Hello, you have to stop it. Don’t get us in short yardage,’ and what not.”

Luvu then suggested that tush -push was a cheap game and compared it to a rugby crumbs.
“But it’s a bit like a cheap game. … It’s basically a crumb in rugby. That’s how I kind of look at it. And we have to have a crumb, on the other side. And the crumb is, we have a cadence where we all go at once. leave it by that.
Luvu, who plays linebacker for the commanders, was marked on three consecutive snaps late in January’s NFC Championship game. He jumped over the review line while the Eagles were set up near the finish line of their signature -tush -push.

The third penalty prompted one of the game’s referees to announce, “Washington has been notified that the referee may at some point award a score if this type of behavior happens again.”
The Eagles defeated the commanders of the NFC title game and went on to the Super Bowl Lix. Philadelphia’s dominant performance in the game ended Kansas City Chiefs’ hope of winning three consecutive championships.
