Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday praised a resolute attitude and operational dexterity in the Pakistani Navy and emphasized that Guardians of the Country’s Maritime Frontiers were fully able to perform high -intensity operations, such as the historic operation Dwarka, again.
The prime minister visited Naval Dockyard in Karachi to pay tribute to the navy for his central role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. He paid tribute to officers and sailors’ exemplary professionalism, battle preparedness and steadfast commitment to the national defense.
According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing in the military, the Prime Minister conveyed the Nation’s deep appreciation of the armed forces and confirmed unwavering confidence in their abilities.
Operation Dwarka was a naval operation launched by Pakistan Navy on 7-8. September during the war in 1965. The operation involved a naval bombardment of the coastal town of Dwarka, located in the Indian state of Gujarat, with the aim of destroying a radar station that guides Indian bombers.
The operation was a resounding success when the Indian radar station was damaged, which inhibited the Indian Air Force’s operations. Operation Dwarka demonstrated Pakistan Navy’s excellent capacity as it reached its goals without maintaining losses.
In a remembering Pakistan Navy’s proud inheritance of crucial operations, the Prime Minister emphasized that the fleet remained “fully capable of performing high -intensity operations similar to the historic operation dwarka anytime and where needed”.
During the visit, the Prime Minister boarded the Type-054a Class Destroyer, PNS Taimur, where he was informed by commander Pakistan fleet on Pakistan Navy’s strategic orientation, operational companies and remarkable contributions during the ongoing operation.
The prime minister interacted with officers and sailors and paid tribute to their exemplary professionalism, combat readiness and steadfast commitment to the national defense.
He praised the marine for his “resolute attitude, operational dexterity and effective deterrent response by counteracting conflicting maritime threats”.
The prime minister in particular praised the critical role of the navy in the protection of sea lines for communication lines and secure the uninterrupted stream of maritime trade, while maintaining absolute maritime sovereignty through a layered and insured marine defense.
Earlier, upon arrival at Pakistan Navy Dockyard, the Prime Minister was received by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Head loss manager Syed Asim Munir and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu were also present.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and Minister of Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the ISPR press message said.
