Karachi:
Armed robberies continue unabated in the city, where law enforcement apparently is unable to contain the increase in violence. In just five days, three people, including a child, have been killed by the robbers in Korangi district.
Across Karachi, two citizens were shot to death within eight hours while opposing robbery attempts. So far this year, 46 citizens have lost their lives in such events.
A deadly robbery took place within the Awami Colony Police Station’s Jurisdiction Monday. Two unidentified robbers on foot tried to snap a motorcycle from 30-year-old Hafiz Faisal, who opposed.
The assailants shot him several times and fled with his belongings. Critically wounded Faisal succumbed to his injuries to the road Jinnah Hospital. At the time of the incident, he was on his way to picking up his nephew from school.
Meanwhile, another young man was killed during a robbery near Orangi Town’s disco mother. Two armed robbers went into an ice and fresh juice shop. A shop owner opened fire and killed one of the robbers. His accomplices managed to flee unharmed.
However, Shop employee Abid, 20, was hit under the intersection and succumbed to his injuries to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He had arrived in Karachi just 15 days ago in search of work.
