Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the annual development program for 12 districts in the province.

She was chairman of a meeting attended by all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners from all over the province, where the annual development programs were reviewed together with beautification initiatives and anti-intruding operations.

The development programs for the remaining districts will be reviewed on Tuesday.

The minister said on the occasion, “removing interventions and maintaining the standard of cleanliness is a major challenge. Commissioners and DCs have been given full freedom to perform their duties. No one is allowed to influence their decisions. The assembly members also appreciate improvement in all social and other sectors in their districts.”

She added, “An extensive crash against corruption must be performed to stamp it permanently. It was decided to ensure sustainable uplifting of roads, markets and bazaars in all tehsils in the province.”

She instructed the officials to construct model Rickshaw stands in each city.

She also instructed them to secure payment to the owners for the acquisition of land for market interest and to carry out CCTV monitoring of government land obtained after elimination of intervention.

The Minister of Ministry ordered the establishment of sports areas and urban forests on the retrieved and accessible government land in the cities over Punjab.

She ordered the administrative officers to complete daily visits to ensure elimination of intervention along with the inspection of lane marking on the roads to prevent temporary interventions.

She ordered the removal of electrical poles from roads and the construction of tuff tiles paths along the newly erected roads.

The minister of the main ordered the transfer of markets for grain, fruits and vegetables outside the cities along with their uniform uplifting. She instructed the officials to install plantings and theme lights on overhead bridges.
