There is now a heavy favorite in the flag football competition at Summer -ol in 2028.
NFL owners unanimously approved a proposal Tuesday that allows NFL players to participate in the summer matches.
Flag Football gets its first performance three years from now on when the Olympics return to Los Angeles for the first time since 1984.

“Players have expressed us a great desire to the honor of competing in the Olympics, and we are pleased that our members will be able to represent their country on the highest international scene,” NFLPA director Lloyd Howell said in a statement. “We look forward to working with the league, IFAF and Olympic authorities about the conditions of their participation to ensure that players who compete will do so with protection for their health, security and jobs.”
When he heard the news he would be allowed to attend, Justin Jefferson said he was “lost to words.”
“To think of the chance to play in the Olympics and get a gold medal, it’s a dream,” he said.
The league has experimented with flag football and replaced its Pro Bowl with skills competitions, including a flag football match.

NFL owners to discuss revised tush -push -ban, endgame and flag football suggestions
Last month, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the interest in competing this summer -ol has been a hot topic in the league, adding a decision on the question may be upcoming.
“Well, I’ve heard directly from many players who want to participate and represent their country, whether it’s the US or a country from which they came from,” Goodell said In April.
“I think this is something we continue to discuss with, not only the union but also the clubs. I think both are things that we will probably solve once in the next 60 days.”

Several players have shown interest, including Patrick Mahomes, Tirek Hill, Aaron Jones and Kyle Juszczyk. Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who won the Super Bowl in February, also recently became the tab of the flag football ambassador for the Games.
